Eleven telecom service providers have been recognized for excellence in providing advanced communications services by Nemertes Research in the company's first PilotHouse awards. The awards were not awarded by the research firm itself but by 647 enterprise IT executives taking part in Nemertes' surveys and benchmark studies on advanced communications services.
Already, the service provider awards have had an impact on enterprises getting ready to send out service RFPs.
Robin Gareiss
Executive Vice President, Nemertes Research

As part of Nemertes' Advanced Communications Services research project, 647 IT executives rated their primary and secondary service providers and provided details on how they use carrier services. The PilotHouse Awards recognized both major and emerging service providers that received the highest average scores in several categories.

"These organizations represent the cream of the crop when it comes to deploying and utilizing next-generation services including MPLS, Ethernet, hosted services and other emerging offerings," said Robin Gareiss, Nemertes' executive vice president and senior founding partner. "If you want to know who's leading the pack when it comes to using and delivering these services, this extensive, five-month research project gives insight to the top carriers and businesses that effectively leverage their services."

Already, the service provider awards have had an impact on enterprises getting ready to send out service RFPs, Gareiss said.

The awards recognized both major and emerging service providers that received the highest average scores in several categories.
